Bankhead Equipment (Mt. Gaines Rock) is a family-owned gravel business with an owner having over thirty-seven years of industry experience. Located in the heart of Hornitos, California, a historical area of Mariposa County. There you will find the main owner, Jack Bankhead, in his element when he is running his equipment at the pit.
Our purchase of the pit in 2003 was like a dream come true, watching all our hard work towards building a business become a reality. We loved the history of the area and saw an opportunity to create a new landscape rock and sand resource for the valley. By manufacturing our own landscape rock, sand and gravel, we can supply product at a more reasonable cost directly to the consumer. Here you will find great choices from small to large/giant size rocks. The home we live in is built from rock because we love our products so much. In addition, we built numerous fences and rock walls in the area from our wonderful products.
